Simple but effective. I frequently use my open tailgate as a saw horse when doing quick construction cuts and the mat helps to protect it.

This tailgate mat when installed, appears more like a thick rubber molding that had problems when poured. There are areas with dimples and abnormalities in the rubber. It can also make it hard to slide large items into the bed since its kind of tacky (sticky)specially if it gets too hot. It needs more screws in the center section to hold it firmly to the gate (as if the 20 something screws isn't enough..) All an all consider a different method (spraying or a composite material more expense), but for a cheap solution this may do and last for a few months depending on how its used.

Nice mat, but you have to drill holes in your tailgate to mount.

Product offers good protection to tailgate and installation is relatively easy (took about 15 minutes to drill the requisite 9/64" dia holes, 24 total I think, and fasten the mat to the tailgate). Shipment was prompt and RealTruck furnished tracking number should it have been required. Have bookmarked RealTruck for my future accessory purchases.

The mat fits perfectly. I was surprised, however, that the cost of shipping was so high. I paid $69.99 for the truck bed and $31.31 for shipping.
