How does the bedrug install?

BedRug Carpet Truck Bed Liners Installation
The bedrug is very easy to install. You just zip the molded sides to the bedrug floor. Then the bedrug installs to your truck bed with velcro. SEE ATTACHED PDF of Instructions Below. For additional information, please call 1-877-216-5446 or 701-253-5906.
1. Read all instructions before installing.
2. The floor and siderugs are shipped unzipped.
3. Remove floor and siderugs from box.
4. Zip floor and siderugs together to form the one-piece soft bed liner.
5. A very aggressive hook and loop fastening system has been designed to hold the bedliner in open bed trucks.
6. A continuous loop fastener is sewn around the liner. The bulkhead and tailgate have two continuous strips of loop fastener sewn along the top and bottom. The hook fasteners have a self-adhesive backing to stick to the bed of the truck. Lay the Bedrug soft bed liner in the bed of the truck to determine the exact location and fit.
Note: Some truck beds are equipped with tie-down hooks, load extenders and other functional equipment. These may be located on the floor, bulkhead or sidewalls. For equipment such as this, the installer must either:
A. Cut a small slit in the appropriate area of the Bedrug allowing the equipment to protrude through the Bedrug into the truck bed. (This will not damage the Bedrug.) or
B. Remove the equipment until the installation is complete, then reinstall the equipment on top of the Bedrug.IMPORTANT: Never cut or put slits through any seams or sewn areas of the Bedrug. This will cause the seam to come completely apart.Refer to illustration for completing steps 8 -14. Roll one side of the Bedrug up exposing the floor area where the 3" strip of hook fastener is to be adhered.

9. Using a clean lint-free cloth, clean this area thoroughly using NON-PETROLEUM based solvent. Then with a separate cloth, clean the same area again with alcohol. If the cloths become visually soiled, replace them with clean ones.
10. Attach hook fasteners to the loop. For siderugs, be sure to place the 2" long hook fasteners at the locator marks which are molded into the foam. Remove the protective liners for the hook fasteners exposing the adhesive. (See Attached PDF) Lay the Bedrug down, then FIRMLY rub the fastener(s) down VERY AGGRESSIVELY to assure full engagement of the fastener(s) and the adhesive. Note: Truck bed surface temperature should be 68°F or higher in order for the hook fastener to achieve maximum adhesion. Also, never contaminate the adhesive by touching it with your fingers.
11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 for the opposite side of the Bedrug.
12. Repeat steps 9 and 10 on the bulkhead.
13. Repeat steps 9 and 10 on the siderugs.
14. Repeat Steps 9 and 10 on the tailgate.

Installed in my 2010 Tundra CrewMax Platinum with a Factory Toyota hard toneau cover. Perfect fit, easy to install, and finishes of the look of the bed nicely. It is great on your knees when you have to crawl up into the bed of your truck especially if you have a hard toneau cover. This is the 2nd truck I have installed a BedRug in and have been happy with the results each time. The first truck was a brand new 2000 Silverado Sportside, that I installed an ARE fiberglass toneau cover and BedRug in, the day after buying the truck. I owned that truck for 10 years and hauled gravel, mulch, dirt, greasy auto parts and a multitude of other items. The BedRug always cleaned up easily and still looked new the day I sold the truck. I love my BedRug and always get complements everywhere I go.

My Bedrug arrived in a very timely manner and was well contained in its packaging. The only "real" problem I had was the weather. We could not catch a break from the rain and cold and it took over 3 weeks for us to have 2 days in a row that were above 65, and this was the middle/end of May! After reading the instructions, I watched the installation video on line. To me, the video was more helpful than the written instructions. Installation was fairly simple and progressed quickly. My suggestion would be to work slowly. You will still be done within an hour. I had to cut the liner for my tie downs, but once I was finished you really cannot tell the Bedrug was cut. My only reason for giving the Bedrug 4 stars instead of 5 is that I am still a bit leery of the attachment method. Time will tell. If it holds up I will rate this product as a 5! I do love the fact I can now crawl around in the bed and it does not "kill my knees"! The Bedrug is also the best looking bedliner I have seen, and a snap to install.

The Bedrug fit perfect and looks very sharp. It improves the utility of the truck tremendously. The liner makes the bed very comfortable and allows you to lay items you don't want to get scratched, like guns, directly on the bed. There's no slipping around and the Bedrug tucks into the sides costing very little space. If you're trying to decide whether to get a spray-in liner, plastic liner, or bed mat, forget all that and get a Bedrug.

The BedRug over all was a very easy installation and very pleased. However, fitting the tailgate did take a little extra work since I have the factory Taigate Step. The bedrug model I installed included the new design that fits the tailgate with this option. I installed the main bed first (with the tailgate piece zipped in place to make sure of a proper fit.) When it came to secure the tailgate section I unzipped it and inserted it over the step bar handle and then rezipped it to the main bed. But first, you have to remove the screws that hold the plastic tailgate lid to the tailgate. I had to slit about an inch of the hole in the rug to fit over the bar handle. I cut the slit in the direction of where the bar goes down to the right (facing the back of the truck). This actually worked well allowing some good freedom of movement for the bar to go up and down. Then I worked the rest in place and zelcroed it down. I replaced some of the screws to hold the tailgate section in place for the final step of installation. I then used a large flat screw driver to help tuck the end of the rug under the plastic tailgate lid replacing screw as I went. It was a bit of challange to fit the end of the rug where the bar is attached to the tailgate. There is little to no play in lifting up the plastic of the tailgate were the bar is attached. This part is the challange. Using 2 flat screw drivers and a 1 inch puddy knife and 30 careful minutes of my time I got it in place.
End result: It fits perfectly and looks great. Since it was below 65 degees, I did the installation in my heated garage, which got up to 80 degress with my kerosene heater. Installation needs to be above 65 degrees, the warner the better.
Very pleased, this is the best liner out there. I have used it about a month, hauled some loose mulch and it cleaned up perfect using my air compressor. Would buy it again.

Looks great, went in in about 30 minutes with my girlfriend helping (she actually read the directions). There was one in another truck I had before I got it so I saw how it was installed. Very simple installation. I had to modify mine a bit as I did not need the gate piece. My truck has a plastic gate piece to hold the "Hand Hold" to assist climbing in to the bed. So with a little more velcro (Wal-Mart) no one would ever know a modification was done.

Dealing with RealTruck was a pleasure no problems and delivery was quick. Bedrug was as expected and install was a painless. Only comment I could make is Bedrug uses a adhesive bonding agent for use on tailgates with plastic rail caps, they need to up the quantity of it...it evaporates rather quickly and there isn't enough to do the job

With free shipping, I thought it would take about two weeks to arrive but it was delivered in less than a week. I liked the fact that all the velcro & instructions were packaged in a zip-lock bag since the box it was shipped in was pretty flimsy & had a couple of separations on the ends. The instructions were fairly straight forward and it took me less than a hour to install. It fit the bed just as designed with no alterations needed. It looks great and is quite an improvement over the hard bed liners that eventually rub the paint off the bed causing it to rust underneath. Since my truck has a removeable tailgate it would have been nice to have a zipper between the tailgate & the bed so the tailgate could be removed without the tailgate rug flapping around in the breeze when the tailgate is removed.

The bed liner installation was simple and relatively quick to complete. It took about 45 minute from the time it was taken out of the box and the last velcro stip installed. It fit snug under the tonneau cover and looks great. Well worth the wait from the manufacture. The 2 plus months it took to receive the liner from the manufacture is the only reason it wasn't a 5 star rating.

This carpet liner was great when we went camping and it keeps things from sliding around. It took about an hour total to install and is pretty simple. It looks like it will last for years. I don't think I would have bought it if it was exposed to the elements, but with a camper shell it is perfect. By the way, this company delivered it promptly and without any damage. I will do business with them again.

RealTruck was great at processing the order and answering my questions. This product is listed for a 1500 series even though it is the same as a 2500 series (which is what I needed). Unfortunately for the product though, it appears that the bottom velcro does go far enough towards the tailgate and I have observed that it likes to form an air pocket under the rear of the bedrug at freeway speeds. Luckily, my intention was already to get a shell for the truck so that issue will be irrelevant, but I would not want this activity if a shell or tonnaeu cover was not being used. ON the positive side, the newer beds of these 1500/2500 series trucks are very curved/shaped and the bedrug does fit all of the curves and seems pretty much spot on.

I'm actually very pleased with the "Bedrug" itself. It was easy to install myself, maybe a few more pieces of Velcro on the tailgate ends of the side wall sections would be more assuring. It looks great and has added great appeal to the bed of my truck. The only problem was the amount of time it took to be delivered, only after I made a phone call inquiring about the order did it arrive 2 days later. Thanks, John..

Not an absolutely perfect fit, (probably my fault), but I love this product! I would recommend over spray in anyday!!! the stuff I put in the bed doesn't get scratched, doesn't slide around and it looks great. You cabn get in the bed on your knees w/o any pain at all. If you're considering a bedliner look no further.

Great product. Fairly easy to install. The bottom is nicely padded and is very comfortable on the knees. The carpeted bottom has really stopped things from sliding around in the bed.
The fit is almost perfect except around the wheel hump. There is a little bunching.
Combine it with a bakflip tonneau cover, you have a huge trunk for carrying supplies and tools.

WOW....after having trucks with no bed liner, hard plastic bedliner and sprayed in liner.....I have to say that the Bed Rug is absolutely worth every penny. Looks great, it's functional and is very easy on the knees, crawling in and out. Easy to install, although the only real drawback is the activator pad for the velcro....sorta worthless after the first 2 strips on the bottom. It got so gummy I couldn't use it for the rest of the velcro. But, it still is attached very well and no issues thus far. Lot's of great comments about it's looks and functionality from friends.

Looks great, and has held up to everything I can throw at it. Can be a little annoying to clean (then again I did get transmission fluid all over it the last time). Very nice liner, I'm glad I went that route rather than a spray on.
