I had my boards installed by a local mechanic. He had worked for many years in a dealership in the past and one of his jobs was installing running boards. He was their main running board installer. This installation took over three hours.

His comments were:
NEGATIVE:
The instructions that came with the mounting kit and the ones that had been emailed to me from Sharp Boards were not specific for the Santa Fe. They also referred to removing the 1/2 in. bolt for the front mount - the bolts on the vehicle are metric. The right and left sides of the vehicle are different and the brackets mount differently to them.

He had to bend some of the brackets / supports to get the brackets level when the boards were installed. The left side boards weren't able to be mounted as close to the body of the vehicle as the right side ones were.

POSITIVE:
The quality of the boards and the mounting brackets were better than most of the ones he has seen. They are both made from quality material and should last as long as the vehicle.

OBSERVATION:
The brackets should probably be fabricated with a right and left specific bends. The pictures should show right and left specific detail and the instructions should be done the same way to apply to the differences between the two sides of the vehicle.

The only problem I had were the instructions but I called the Mfg and they e-mailed me a new set after I spoke with them and everything went ok
