Installation was simple and described. Unfortunately the detail of how the lock works is not described. Rather than activating the factor lock (which disengages the handle, thus locking it, this product throws a steel pin across 1/2 of the tailgate handle preventing it from being pulled open. As the pin only blocks 1/2 of the handle though, the handle when pulled while locked will pull partially open on the right side. The tailgate won't open, but it doesn't feel very secure and I get the sense that if someone pulled on it hard enough, then handle would simply break. The design clearly has room for improvement.

The lock bracket will have to be modified if you have a backup camera. I could not find the wires in the left kick panel. There are hundreds of wires in the kick panel, none have the color markings indicated in the document or 2008 F150. I'll have to wait for a warmer day when I can remove the door panel & trace the wires from the lock and switch.

It's just a switch, but Pace-Edwards could have made something a bit nicer looking than just a standard 3 way toggle. Not even a label on switch. Disappointing but it works.

Perfect fit, easy installation. Be warned.... this fits perfectly on OEM tailgate handle but if you install with after-market handle be prepared to do some tweaking.

the instructions could have been better,although the correct product for my truck the correct wiring method for my model year wasn't mentioned but was the same as the last year mentioned(05 instructions for an 08 truck), and a slight modification to the latch handle seems to make it a much more secure lock

Installation on 2005 Chevy is not what is conveyed, ended up having to remove door panel on driver's side to make the connections. Not a easy install like stated.

Very disappointed!!!!! The motor did not appear strong enough to drive the locking mechanism. This lock only provides the appearance a security, as the bezel around the lock can be easily removed and the lock can be unlocked with your fingers. Save yourself the time and expense and purchase a keyed lock.

07 Dakota Crew Cab: Do not try to remove the handle bezel as instructed the clips will break. Apparently the handle screws need to be removed and the assembly lifted out so the bezel clips can be properly disconnected. This is what I understood reading the Dodge manual(after the fact)but I haven't ordered a new bezel to determine for sure. I have not been able to get it to function correctly. Locks but won't unlock. Pace Contacted me quickly but due to weather I haven't been able to troubleshoot further. An extension harness is not required plenty of wire to mount the solenoids under the hood. Getting through the firewall is a chore.

The Pace Edwards Power Gate Electric Tailgate Lock was super simple to install, and hook up to the exsisting power locks.
It's exactly as discribed in the description.
It works great, no keys to fumble with unlocking the tailgate.
It comes with everything you need, to make it easy to install,
and it also is at a great price.
I would definitely recommend this product to everyone.

I put this on my 2007 dodge, everyone thinks its a factory option, it works great it, its easy to use and with a bed cover I have it keeps an honest person honest all controlled with my key fob, mechically it was a snap, running the wiring was easy I didnt even need the (wire extension kit)however getting through my fire wall with drilling was a little problematic and finally the wiring diagram was for a 2006 and it it didnt quite match up.( make sure you call Pace Edwards during before you do it to get the right instructions }
