Core Manufacturing presents the answer to your cargo control needs: The Big Maxx Cargo Bar. This rugged cargo bar holds heavy cargo in place in your Pickup or SUV. Its precision ratchet system adjusts the bar to your vehicle's width and locks it in place with tension. These load bars has 2.5" x 4" swiveling feet that are rubber-booted for scratch resistance and a super grip. The Big Maxx Adjustable Ratcheting Cargo Bar mounts anywhere without drilling, and the bar adjusts from 56" to 71" wide. The bar is 1 1/8" diameter aluminum tubing, the ratchet mechanism and end feet are steel with a durable black powdercoat finish. The Big Maxx Adjustable Cargo Bar is also available for Trailers. It Adjusts 89" to 103" wide.

it's not the rachetting type so after extending it to the side of the truck bed it only tightens about 1 inch more--I wouldn't trust it to hold anything heavy or that has potential to fall. I believe I bought it after seeing it holding a motorcycle from falling out the back of a truck with the tailgate down--NO WAY would I trust this cargo bar to do that. It's build well and but I was quite disappointed with it's max tension capabilities.
