This Edge products CAT Module for RV's will work on the CAT 3126 B and E model diesel engines and the 5.9L Cummins ISB . Each Edge performance products cat module has 4 four power levels. Edge performance chips and programmer users have seen an increase in horsepower and foot pounds of torque. This results in an average increase of 5 mph up a 7% grade, although results will vary with each truck, the increase makes a fantastic improvement in drivability. We have also seen an increase in fuel economy ranging from 0.5 to 1 mpg depending on driving style. Quick and easy installation; takes less than 10 minutes to install. The power levels are adjusted with the jumpers located underneath the back faceplate.

Q: WHAT ENGINES DOES THE CAT MODULE WORK ON? A: The CAT module works on the CAT 3126 B and E model engines. Q: WHAT ARE THE HORSEPOWER GAINS? A: Edge has seen an increase ranging form 25-40 horsepower and 90-120 foot pounds of torque; this results in an average increase of 5 mph up a 7% grade. Q: WILL INSTALLING THE CAT MODULE VOID MY FACTORY WARRANTY? A: While the answer is straightforward from a legal standpoint, we also want to educate our customers (and after-market consumers) on some industry realities and offer some common sense precautions to minimize your risk. Consumers of aftermarket products are protected by The Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act states that if something breaks on your car and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless they can prove that whatever modifications you have added to your car actually caused the problem. While as a consumer you have strong legal protection regarding your vehicle’s warranty, there is also a practical reality that different automotive manufacturers and dealers have greatly varying views on aftermarket products, in particular those that produce horsepower, such as performance enhancement chips, modified intake manifolds, or aftermarket exhaust systems. There are dealers and manufacturers out there that will use the presence of a horsepower upgrade to void your vehicle’s warranty. They will do this regardless of whose product you are using. Any aftermarket company that does not acknowledge this is misleading you. The bottom line is that while the law protects the consumer and provides for enforcement of the warranty, it is very difficult for most people to hire an attorney and fight a voided warranty. Edge recommends that you always disconnect and/or remove any performance device or programmer before you take your vehicle to a dealer for any service, in order not to interfere with Diagnostic equipment. Q: WILL THE CAT MODULE INCREASE MY FUEL ECONOMY? A: Yes. Based on driving style you may see about a 10% increase in fuel economy ranging from 0.5 to 1 mpg depending on driving style. Q: WHAT ARE EGTs? A: EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) is the temperature at which the exhaust exits the exhaust manifold. Edge studies show, that safe max EGT is approximately 1350 degrees. On all Edge Products, we recommend a pyrometer & boost gauge. The thermocouple that monitors EGT is recommended to be installed into the exhaust manifold, for the most accurate readings. Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO INSTALL? A: With using factory-style connector, the CAT Module installs in less than 10 minutes. Q: WHERE DOES THE CAT PLUG IN? A: The CAT Module simply plugs into the Boost Sensor & IAP Sensor. The Boost Sensor is located on the driver’s side, near the fire wall. The IAP Sensor is also on the driver’s side, in front of the fuel filter, on top of the engine. Q: HOW DO THE POWER-LEVELS CHANGE ON THE CAT? A: On the end of the CAT Module, remove the small black plate. A 3/32 Allen wrench is required to remove the two Allen head screws. Directly below are six short pins on each side of the box. Two blue jumpers are default at level 2. To see a picture of different power-levels, refer to your owners manual or go to the installation tab to download the owners manual. Associated Documents
