7.     On the Screen it shows No GPS Signal, what should I do?
First, make sure you are outdoors in an open space and not under any building or cover, including your garage. Restart your GPS again. You device should receive GPS signals within a few minutes.
Your device will usually acquire a GPS fix faster if your vehicle is stationary.  It is more difficult to acquire a signal while driving.  Your device may have trouble acquiring a GPS signal for several reasons:

  • Device does not have a clear view of sky
  • Extreme weather such as clouds and storms
  • Driving in mountainous regions or urban areas with tall buildings
  • If your device fails to acquire a GPS signal for several minutes, you can restart the device.   If your device consistently fails to acquire a GPS signal over several days even when none of the above conditions exist please submit an issue detailing the area you are traveling in by contacting our customer service.
8.     How long it takes to get GPS signal?
Under normal weather condition and complete outdoor situation, your Navfly GPS device should receive GPS signals within a minute. But sometime it may take few more minutes.

9.     How to setup my HOME and WORK address?
For the first time to set up your Home and Work Address, you can just tab MENU, under Find menu and tab HOME and WORK icons to set up your address. If you want to edit your Home or Work Address, you can go Main MENU, under “Settings”, tab “General” and you will find “Set your Favorite destination” to edit your Home or Work address.

10.            What is different between COCKPIT and MAP?
The less detailed the map, the faster NAVFLY Navigator can draw and move it. You will find that NAVFLY Navigator has a very fast graphic engine that is capable of moving even detailed maps at high speed. Yet you may experience that the performance of some old PND models can be enhanced by decreasing the amount of detail on the map.

This setting has three values: More detailed, Normal, Less detailed (fast). They influence when NAVFLY Navigator hides and shows certain map features when zooming in or out. Setting a higher detail level will result in objects appearing sooner when zooming in.

Although the map visualization of NAVFLY Navigator is basically the same in Map and Cockpit modes, you can set a different map detail for each one, so the map is better suited for the purposes of that screen.

Having explained the contents of the map, the description of the other parts of the map screens follows. There are two map screens: the Map screen and the Cockpit screen. The way they show the map is the same but their look and controls are optimized for different purposes.

The Map screen is to be used mainly without a GPS, to browse the map, create user POI items, or to plan your route based on map points. The Map screen is designed to give you the maximum map area. This screen is usually used in 2D North-up mode (you can set NAVFLY Navigator so it always opens the Map screen like that ).

The Cockpit screen is for driving purposes. Besides showing the map, it contains some additional travel information if you are just cruising (speed, current street your are driving in, speed limit for the current street), and some more route data if you are navigating (e.g. next street in your route, distance to travel, type of the next route event). This screen is typically used in 3D Track-up mode (you can make NAVFLY Navigator always open the Cockpit screen like that ).

There are several controls that function in a similar fashion on the two screens.

12.            How can I delete the route I set earlier?

You can go MENU, tab “Route” and then “Delete”.

13.            What does “Lock” or “Follow” mean?
As described at the map screen functions, you can move, rotate, tilt and zoom the map during navigation. In these cases a Lock or Follow icon (Error! Reference source not found.) appears on the screen.

When you rotate, tilt or zoom the map, that part of Smart Zoom is automatically deactivated; the map will still follow your position, but will not change the view parameter you have modified. You can return to the full Smart Zoom mode by tapping the Lock or Follow button.

If you move the map, all parts of Smart Zoom become deactivated, and the view freezes. Tapping the Lock or Follow button makes NAVFLY Navigator follow your position again (Lock-to-Position) and also re-enables Smart Zoom.

You can make NAVFLY Navigator push the Lock or Follow button for you automatically after a few seconds of inactivity.

14.            How can I set “Car pool”?
Inside Main MENU, tab “Settings” and then tab “Advance”. You will find Route Option. Under Route Option, you can select or deselect “Car Pool”.

 15.            How can I adjust the sound of voice and key?
Tab Main MENU, You can find “Sound” settings. Tab it, you will see Sound settings on this page determine the way NAVFLY Navigator sounds.

                                                              i.      Master sound volume/switch The loudness of NAVFLY Navigator is independent of your PND settings. When you run NAVFLY Navigator, the position of this fader determines the device volume level. When you exit the program, the device settings return.

The left part of this control works as a mute button. Tap to mute all NAVFLY Navigator sounds. This works in tandem with the Mute button (Error! Reference source not found.) on the map screens. Switching one of them will change the status of the other.

ii.      Voice guidance volume/switch The switch on the left can turn on or mute NAVFLY Navigator's audible guidance. When turned on, the slider on the right will adjust the loudness of voice prompts. In its leftmost position the voice guidance is suppressed, in its rightmost position the master volume applies.

iii.      Key sound volume/switch The switch on the left can turn the key sounds on or off. Key sounds are audible confirmations of tapping the touch screen. When key sounds are turned on, the slider on the right will adjust their loudness. In its leftmost position the key sounds are suppressed, in its rightmost position they are played at the master volume level.

iv.      Dynamic Volume When driving at high speed, the noise in the car may be too loud to clearly understand the voice guidance messages and to perceive the key sounds. Using Dynamic Volume you can instruct NAVFLY Navigator to increase the volume when your speed exceeds a certain minimum, and reach its highest volume (determined by the Master volume slider in Sound settings) at the given maximum speed.

Tap the Dynamic Volume button to turn on the feature. This will also open the screen where you can set the minimum and maximum speeds.

                                                           v.      Attention Tone If this is set to Disabled, the voice guidance will sound without a preceding attention tone. Setting it to Single Tone will initiate a single attention tone before the instructions, while Double Tone will use a double tone.

16.            How can I adjust display back light setting?
Inside Main MENU, Tab “Settings” and then tab “Advance”. You will find “Backlight Settings” Here you can set how backlight behaves when using NAVFLY Navigator.

 17.            How can I choose different route setting? What is the route parameter for?
