Royal Purple Max-Cycle® is specifically formulated to significantly improve motorcycle engine (and transmission) performance. It's recommended for use in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled 4-cycle engines and it's compatible with wet-clutch transmissions. Formulated with select synthetic base oils and Royal Purple's proprietary Synerlec® additive technology, Royal Purples Synethetic Max Cycle provides unparalleled film strength that is up to 400 percent stronger than the leading synthetic and mineral oils. Its shear stability and oxidation resistance promote greater performance and protection. Independent Test: Lonview Inspection conducted a test to determine if switching to Royal Purple's Max-Cycle® would reduce motorcycle operating temperatures. Conclusion: switching to Max-Cycle® throughout the motorcycle reduced engine operating temperatures from 24 to 44 degrees F. Synerlec® greatly reduces engine wear ? including ring, cylinder and bearing wear. It continuously adheres to metal surfaces, even after shutdown, to provide instant protection at startup until a full fluid film can be established. Max-Cycle® exceeds API / JASO new warranty requirements and is compatible with other mineral and synthetic motor oils. No flushing is necessary prior to use. It?s available in 10W30, 10W40 and 20W50 viscosities.
- Greater Wear Protection
Synerlec® additive technology forms a tough, tenacious film on all metal surfaces virtually eliminating engine wear. - Greatly Extends Oil Drain Intervals
Max-Cycle® is extremely oxidation stable and stands up to the heat that causes oils to thicken, form lacquer and varnish deposits, lose its lubricity and shorten the life of both the oil and the engine. - Increases Horsepower
Max-Cycle® increases horsepower and torque over conventional oils. - Increases Torque
Max-Cycle® increases horsepower and torque over conventional oils. - Provides Superior Rust / Corrosion Protection
Synerlec® additive technology protects during normal and severe operation and acts as a preservative oil during shutdown. - Saves Fuel
Max-Cycle's® low coefficient of friction routinely produces meaningful improvements in fuel economy. - Reduces Exhaust Emissions
Max-Cycle® provides a superior seal between the piston ring and cylinder wall, which reduces blow-by, improves combustion efficiency and measurably reduces harmful emissions. - Keeps Engines Clean
Max-Cycle's® natural solvency cleans deposits left by old oils and keeps engines clean. - Mates Engine Parts
Synerlec® additive technology allows engine parts to perfectly mate. Mated parts allow engines to run smoother with increased efficiency for maximum performance. - Will Not Harm Seals
Max-Cycle® has the same excellent seal compatibility as mineral engine oils. - Exceeds API / JASO Performance Requirements
Max-Cycle® exceeds API / JASO new warranty requirements and is compatible with other mineral and synthetic motor oils. No flushing is necessary prior to use. - Environmentally Responsible
Max-Cycle® components are TSCA listed and meet EPA, RCRA and OSHA requirements. Max-Cycle® extends oil drain intervals, eliminates premature oil changes, decreases the amount of oil purchased and disposed of and conserves energy.
Why Use Royal Purple? See PDF Below
Does Royal Purple® offer specific motor oils for motorcycles?
Yes. While the Royal Purple SAE and Racing engine oils may be used in motorcycle applications the Max-Cycle® line of engine oils has been formulated specifically for motorcycle engines and transmissions.
How often do I change Royal Purple® in my motorcycle?
While under factory warranty Royal Purple® recommends following the manufacturer's recommended maintenance intervals. In bikes with clean engines in sound operating condition, Royal Purple® may be used up to 8,000 miles with a filter change every 3,000 to 4,000 miles (top-off oil as needed). In motorcycles with high mileage engines, dirty engines or engines otherwise suspect in cleanliness, Royal Purple® recommends allowing two to three standard 3,000 mile oil and filter change intervals. This will allow ample time for Royal Purple® to gradually remove existing deposits / contaminants without overloading the system (pump, pick-up, filter, etc.). Once these precautionary intervals have been performed, drain intervals may be extended as recommended for clean engines.
What oil do you recommend for Harley Davidson motorcycles?
For Evolution and Twin Cam motors, Royal Purple's Max-Cycle® 20W50 is recommended. For Sportsters and Buell motorcycles, Royal Purple's Max-Cycle® 10W40 may be used.
